Cellar Door: Daily (10-5)

The Smedley family's Mandala brand is based on two vineyard sites, one in Yarra Junction and the other Dixons Creek. The upper Yarra (Yarra Junction) site is dedicated to Pinot Noir.

They have managed the Yarra Junction site plantings and viticulture from scratch, developing a 'Burgundian' site with carefully considered Pinot Noir clones. These vines are hand pruned, hand harvested and low yield.

The Dixons Creek site has established vines with broader varietal plantings including Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon and is regarded as one of the warmer sites on the valley floor. There were no 2009 releases due to the bushfires.

The wines are contract made by Scott McCarthy. The cellar door complex also features a restaurant. Thw wines tend to be in gentle, food friendly style to match the restaurant cuisine.
