Vines at Birthday Villa
Gewurztraminer vines at Birthday Villa

Probably Australia's only Gewurztraminer focussed vineyard and one of the oldest in the region.

The 1.5 ha of Gerwurztraminer was established all the way back in 1962. The famous Alsatian variety thrives in cold climates like New Zealand's South Island so it comes as no surprise that it should find a new home in one of the coldest mainland Australian wine regions.

The portfolio is broadened with a tiny amount of Cabernet Sauvignon which can do well in warmer vintages (now more common with climate change than not).

The wines are contract made by Greg Dedman.
