This small 'Spa Country' winery was founded by former Edinburgh University geneticist Ken Jones with wife Miranda in 1999. Ken makes the wines on site.
The cellar door is next to the big shed on a small farm. There is no mistaking the location when you are driving down Malmsbury Rd. The shed is unsubtly adorned with giant BIG SHED letters.
When we visited the winery we had such a good time there talking to Miranda but that we didn't write down full tasting notes - luckily we bought a couple of bottles.
The estate wines are from the 2 ha of Pinot Noir with the other wines sourced from the region (for Chardonnay, Reserve Shiraz and Semillon) and Central Victorian sources (for the other reds). There is also a Rutherglen sticky and a sparkling Shiraz.
There are three types of Tasting notes:
(W) Notes from the winery (blurbs from bottle)
(GXY) Notes from a GenXY wine reviewer
(G) Notes from GenXY's Tasting events (collective opinions)
