Lethbridge Dr.Nadeson Riesling 2012

Purchased: Not ($30)

Drink: 2014 or 2019 if you like it toasty

(GXY) Tasting: Nov 2013, as with the 2011 this is fermented in a large old vat (foudre) with a small amount of deliberate oxidation, aromatic in a barely off-dry Kabinett style (about 10 gms/l rs), lime, apples and a touch of passionfruit with musky spices and rose petal florals, vibrant mandarin-infused acidity leads to a wet pebble finish, slightly rustic feel with some mid-palate texture, apparently this will be the last release sourced from the Barrett vineyard in Portland as the Barrett’s are retiring (****1/2)

Lethbridge Dr.Nadeson Riesling 2011

Purchased: Cellarbrations, St. Kilda ($30)

Drink: 2013

(GXY) Tasting: Dec 2012, fermented in a large old vat (foudre) with a small amount of deliberate oxidation, highly aromatic in a just off-dry style (10 gms/l rs) with a rounded mid-palate, lime, musk and orange blossom with crisp mandarin-infused acidity on the wet pebble finish, distinctive, if slightly rustic style (****)

Lethbridge Kabinett Drumborg Riesling 2010

Purchased: Cellar Door ($30)

Drink: 2022+

(GXY) Tasting: June 2011, medium-sweet Mosel style sourced from 25 year old vines at Barret's Vineyard near Portland, wild yeast fermented in large oak barrels with fermentation stopped at 60 gms/litre residual sugar, very aromatic and complex nose, red apple, lime zest and dried apricot with cinnamon, coriander and iris notes, exemplary line and length with well poised vibrant citric acidity leading to a dry, flinty finish (*****)
