The winery is way up in the north end of the region well away from the Nagambie Lakes location of most of the region's wineries. It is also one of the most vino-diverse wineries in the region.

In 1962 Carlo Monichino, together with his wife Margaret planted a vineyard at Katunga, in the heart of the Goulburn Valley region. Today their vineyard produces a low yield of quality fruit across the diverse portfolio of varieties and styles: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Riesling, Orange Muscat, White and Brown Frontignac, Barbera, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Shiraz, Liqueur Muscat and a couple of ports.

The generational baton is changing. Son, Terri, after doing a wine-making course and a stint overseas has returned to take over the wine-making. Their daughter, Anna, manages the cellar door and administration.
