label

The ten hectare winery and restaurant was established in 1989 on the northern coast of the Bellarine Peninsula.

Proprietor, Anne Timms, has lived at Kilgour for 40 years, originally farming mixed grains and sheep. The restaurant and cellar door (in the restaurant) features spectacular views from the decking across Corio Bay to the You Yangs and beyond.

Estate varieties include Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay while the Kilgour Views brand (Shiraz, Pinot Gris and Merlot) is grown on a nearby vineyard. The wines, (previously made on contract by Karen Coulstone, now made by Anne's son, Alister Timms), are uncomplicated fruit-driven food wines, apart from the estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir which can be serious complex wines with fine savoury tannins. There are also two attractive sparklings: a Methode Traditionale Cabernet Sauvignon and Blanc de Noir Methode Tradtionale.

In 2010 Kilgour was sold to David and Lydsay Sharp (Leura Park) who will keep the restaurant and re-name the location Jack Rabbit Vineyard.
