Stonehaven label

Stonehaven was established 1998. Hardys (Constellation) invested $20m to build what was then Australia's largest greenfield winery and the region's most significant cellar door.

There are several vineyards in the Limecoast Region that supply the Stonehaven portfolio with Padthaway being the largest vineyard.

The Padthaway vineyard was established over 30 years ago by the Hardys family. In the past it has contributed fruit to Australian icon wines such as Eileen Hardy Shiraz.

Today this large vineyard is exclusively dedicated to Stonehaven's portfolio including Merlot, Verdelho, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier. The winery has a 12,000 tonne capacity.

Dark clouds loomed on the horizon as Hardys-Constellation closed the cellar door in 2008 awaiting a sale to a new owner.

At the end of 2010 the winery was purchased for an estimated $7 million. The revamped operation went into liquidation again in early 2013.
