(G) Notes from GenXY's Tasting events (collective opinions)

Bethany Kangaroo Island Sauvignon Blanc 2004

Purchased: Not ($21)

Drink: 2008

(GXY) March 2007, tangy blackcurrant, cut grass and lime with a herbal touch of green pea, medium intensity, a good example of Sauvignon Blanc’s new frontier (KI, Manjimup and Mount Benson) sitting between the pungency of Adelaide Hills/Malborough style and passionfruit/lychee style common in many Australian regions (****)

Bethany Kangaroo Island Shiraz 2001

Purchased: Not ($21)

Drink: 2015

(GXY) Tasting: March 2007, quite tightly structured with black cherry, blackcurrant and black olive features, focussed medium to full bodied palate, quite savoury, cedary chocolate oak, still a touch acidic and grippy on the finish, needs plenty of time to round out (***1/2)
