The Patrick of Coonawarra (ex Patrick T) brand comes from local veteran wine-maker, Patrick Tocaciu who set up Patrick T Winemaking Services.

He was born in Mt. Gambier, played Australian Rules football with SANFL club North Adelaide (as a life-long Central Districts supporter I won't hold that against him) and picked up a degree from Roseworthy.

On returning to the south-east he did stints at Heathfield Ridge and Hollicks. The viticulturalist is Rex Hutchinson, who uses biodynamic techniques.

Most of the vines (Cabernet, Shiraz, Merlot, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc) are in the Wrattonbully but there are 2 ha of Cabernet Sauvignon in the Coonawarra that come out on the Home Block label. There is now a Pinot Noir sourced from Mt.Gambier.

The name change in 2010 is to highlight the Coonawarra connection.
