Bowen Estate label

One of the region's stalwarts and was established in 1972.

Mildura born Roseworthy graduate Doug Bowen worked at Chateau Tahbilk and Hungerford Hill, before buying 23 hectares of vines at Bowen Estate with his wife, Joy.

A cellar made of Mount Gambier sandstone was built in 1982.

Daughter, Emma, has now taken over the wine-making. Apart from a Chardonnay the winery is focussed on making full bodied, traditionally styled Shiraz and Cabernet. After a bit of a dull period the Shiraz is starting to hit the mark.
