Tohu is a Maori owned company with a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture.

Their vineyard is located at 200 m in the Awatere Valley with a second vineyard in the Waihopai Valley.

The plantings include Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinnot Noir. The winemaker is Bruce Taylor.

Tohu Raiha Reserve Noble Riesling 2013

(GXY) Tasting: Dec 2014, Pure Elite Gold at Air New Zealand Wine Awards 2014, inoculated Sauterne yeast ferment, treacly and sweet (175 gms/l residual sugar) glazed apricot, lime marmalade and honey with gingery spices, very good acid balance with exceptional persistence (*****)

Tohu Mugwi Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2013

(GXY) Tasting: Dec 2014, Pure Elite Gold at Air New Zealand Wine Awards 2014, flinty, leesy and barrel fermented style showing nectarine and guava with basil and tobacco notes, creamy with drying phenolics and toasty nuttiness from the oak, a complex wine that is a world away from the conventional regional style, will benefit with medium term cellaring (*****)

Tohu Rewa Traditionelle Blanc de Blanc 2011
